Do you ever feel like your shopping habits could do with a reset?
If you’ve been trying to take control of your spending – and take action for the planet by buying less – then this workshop will help you understand your habits and build new ones that are better for both your pocket and your wellbeing.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop is a good choice for anyone feeling uncomfortable with their current shopping habits and looking for inspiration and practical tips to buy less and feel better – so that’s everyone who wants to reduce their impact in the world and live a little lighter!
After completing this workshop you will be able to:
Reflect on your relationship with different kinds of shopping and identify areas for change;
Understand how reducing consumption can have a powerful impact on people, planet, and our own wellbeing;
Learn techniques for making intentional purchases, and avoiding unhealthy ones;
Save money and reduce your climate footprint by shopping for pre-loved items like a pro;
This workshop will give you lots of ideas for saving money and feeling better by reducing the amount of stuff in your life.
T his workshop is part of our Adult Learners Week 2024 activity and delivered for us by Green Squirrel – a social enterprise based at Railway Gardens in Splott.
All Participants will also receive 2 months free membership to the ‘Climate Village’ where you can explore these topics and others that may interest you further.
Good to know:
Green Squirrel workshops are friendly, informal and welcoming. You do not need any prior knowledge of climate or nature to take part.
Although we encourage everyone to join with their camera on and take part in group discussions, we understand that some people will prefer to attend with their camera off. We do not use breakout rooms.
Tutor profiles:
Hannah Garcia has been running community interest company Green Squirrel with Becca Clarke since 2012 in order to offer a helping hand to anyone who wants to take action for people, place and planet.
Hannah has a background in sustainability engagement and outdoor learning, and she’s interested in climate communication and active travel. Having worked in museums, nature reserves, and urban farms she ran her own food and farming education business before joining Green Squirrel after a chance meeting with Becca involving some cake.
