Understanding Domestic Abuse including Controlling & Coercive Behaviour
With this topic becoming more prevalent in the news, this training aims to raise awareness of signs and support available. This course is available to everyone and has been designed to provide an understanding of domestic abuse and controlling & coercive behaviour. We will consider how the perpetrator’s beliefs drive their behaviour and address what the impact of controlling and coercive behaviour is on victims and their families. By the end of the course, participants should feel more confident about how to give practical support to individuals affected and know where to signpost them to for specialist support.
This course is designed to meet the learning outcomes for Group 4 learners as specified in the National training framework statutory guidance under section 15 of the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 and section 60 of the Government of Wales Act 2006.
