Sunday Writing Sessions
The Sunday Writing Sessions are warm and hearty creative writing workshops for brand new and more experienced writers in the Cardiff area. They take place between 10am and 2pm on the second and fourth Sunday of every month, in Chapter Art Centre in Canton and Cardiff MADE in Roath, respectively. Each session is individually designed to: stimulate the creation of new writing and fresh ideas; ensure a safe and supportive space to share work; inspire excellent quality listening and thoughtful feedback. Each session costs £35 (£25 unwaged) and pre-booking is essntial.
In the absence, of face-to-face workshops during the coronavirus pandemic. The Sunday Writing Sessions is operating as a bi-monthly newsletter, which features regular writing prompts and exercises, as well as opportunity to feature in the fortnightly anthology. Founder of the Sunday Writing Sessions, Briony Goffin, is a writer, tutor and mentor. She teaches creative writing at Cardiff University and delivers workshops for organisations as diverse as the NHS, The National Trust, HM Prison Service, Age Cymru, Sky Arts & The Hay Festival. She has been awarded Inspirational Tutor of the Year by NIACE and has shared her work on the subject of Writing as Tribute with a global audience for TEDxCardiff. Briony has published widely on the art of teaching creative writing & supporting the student writer to fulfil their creative potential. She is a Professional Member of LAPIDUS & The National Association of Writers in Education.
