Community Open Evening and Interactive Workshops

We propose to host a community open evening at the Lifelong Learning Centre, providing members of the public with an opportunity to explore our facilities, meet staff and learners, and participate in a range of practical workshop demonstrations.

Venue: Lifelong Learning Centre, Milford Building, Gogerddan Campus, Aberystwyth
Date: 8 September 2026
Time: 4.00pm – 6.30pm

The event will be open to all members of the community and will provide opportunities to:
• Tour the Lifelong Learning facilities.
• Meet academic and administrative staff.
• Speak with current learners about their educational journeys.
• Learn about the range of courses available.
• Discover funding and financial support opportunities.
• Explore the benefits of returning to education.
• Gain confidence in accessing learning opportunities regardless of previous educational
experience.

The event aims to reduce both practical and perceived barriers to participation in education while highlighting the positive impact that learning can have on wellbeing, confidence, employability and personal development.

This would be a 2h30m event, open to anyone, which would showcase Lifelong Learning facilities as well as giving prospective learners the opportunity to speak to academic staff, administrative staff as well as current learners.

Fabulous feathers! (Drawing)
Clayways (Pottery)
