Objects of Vanity: Clothing and Textiles
Aberystwyth University, Lifelong Learning
Participants will explore the history and significance of pockets and personal accessories in clothing. In the seventeenth century, when people often shared living spaces and furniture, pockets provided a private and secure place to keep personal possessions.
During this hands-on session, participants will create a small purse or reticule while learning about the historical and cultural context of clothing and textiles.
The open evening and workshops will be held at the Lifelong Learning Centre, Milford Haven Building, Gogerddan Campus, Aberystwyth on 9th September, 4pm to 6.30pm

This would be a 2h30m event, open to anyone, which would showcase Lifelong Learning facilities as well as giving prospective learners the opportunity to speak to academic staff, administrative staff as well as current learners.
