Amgueddfa Cymru Museum Wales
Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales is a charity, and a family of seven national museums and one collections centre located across Wales. But we’re more than our buildings. Our sites are vital community spaces that reach far beyond their location on a map. Our aim is to inspire everyone we reach through Wales’s story and we recognise that everyone has something to contribute through our museums, collections and the work we do.
Our welcome is free, thanks to funding from the Welsh Government, and extends to people from all communities who help us show that Wales – past, present and future – is a diverse nation. There’s something to spark, excite or change every one of us. Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales belongs to everyone and we can’t tell Wales’s story without you.
Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales belongs to everyone. We’re committed to ensuring that poverty, social disadvantage, ill health and disability are not barriers to participation. Our work is rooted in the diversity of Welsh traditions of culture, language and thought. Our 2030 Strategy guides us as we engage and support communities in creating a better Wales.
One of our museums, St Fagans National Museum of History which explores the history and culture of Wales, won the Art Fund Museum of the Year 2019.
