CrowdCymru

A very exciting project run jointly by Gwent Archives, Glamorgan Archives and Special Collections and Cardiff University Archives. It is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and accessed via a crowdfunding platform established by the National Library of Wales.
This project will be of great interest to those who have always wanted to be involved in volunteering with South Wales archives but are unable to travel to any of the sites. We’re fully digital, it doesn’t matter where you are as long as you have WiFi access,
and you can contribute as little or as much time as you like!
The project will create a bilingual online platform for remote volunteers to tag, annotate and transcribe the digital heritage collections held within these exceptional repositories. Archives services across Wales hold millions of unique records, but many of them are only minimally catalogued and therefore difficult to identify and find. This project will harness the knowledge of individuals in communities across Wales and beyond to enrich our collective heritage for the benefit of current and future generations – locally, nationally, and globally.
Sign up to improve your IT and literary skills, knowledge of South Wales local history and experience of volunteering!
No previous experience needed as training will be provided on request.
Please get in touch if you would like to participate.
